16. Tinkers Point Path
July 31, 2019: Be advised that hikers using Tinkers Point Path will encounter deteriorated structures over a kilometer section between Nicks Cove and the Bight. (km 2.9 to 3.9). Decomposed, broken and missing boards on many sections of boardwalks will be encountered. Also at Deep Cove, (km. 1.0) there is a weakened section of boardwalk. Users of the path are urged to use caution while hiking over the disintegrated structures and can expect to encounter mud sections in these areas.
5.0km, 2-3 hour hike (one way), rated easy.
Access Points: Mobile - From Route 10, turn east onto Lower Road, following the road first along the coast, then uphill to the junction with Cod Seine Road. Or, access Cod Seine Cove Road 600m beyond the Mobile power plant. Park at the turnaround at the end of Cod Seine Cove Road. Do not block local access. The trailhead is at the turnaround. Tors Cove - From Route 10, turn sharply east onto Back Road. Follow the road around High Hill and park in the designated area on the site of the former Sacred Heart Church. Cross the road to the trailhead.
About this path: A gentle beachside, wooded path suitable for families and with shore and island views. Beach access, sea bird and whale watching, meadow ideal for picnicking. Limited facilities in Mobile and Tors Cove.
