The East Coast Trail Association ratified four amendments to its governing document in 2009. As a result of a three-month review process by the Board and Members, the following changes were made:

  • The inclusion of a conflict of interest clause governing board members
  • Rewording of the membership section to clarify that applications for membership are made to the Association as opposed to the Board
  • Allowance for email and web-based notification of members when special meetings or the AGM are called
  • Revision of the annual membership period to be in line with the fiscal year of the Association (which ends in the spring) as opposed to starting and ending memberships at the AGM, which has traditionally been held in the fall.

A fifth motion approved a general edit of the document to remove typographical errors or misspellings.
